My Little Hummingbirds

1. We have some lovely hummingbirds, 

I hold in high regard,
that all flock to their feeder 

in our charming COZY yard.
As I sit on our front porch, 

they buzz and dash about,
in a state of perfect happiness, 

without a doubt. 

2. The tunes of song birds in the trees nearby, 

bring sheer DELIGHT,  
accented by a gentle breeze, 

and filtered beams of light.
Sipping on a glass of wine 

releases every care,
and in their wake a sailboat image 

buoyed by fresh sea air. 

3. Now focusing on all the lovely colored 

flowers and plants,
I watch their stems and petals 

as the breeze bids them to dance.
Ever silently and gently 

they humbly obey,
acknowledging that HAPPINESS 

swiftly dissolves dismay.

4. As the breeze heightens a bit, 

our flag now comes to life,
to remind me of our FREEDOM

and minimal strife.
Lovingly I pray God 

to protect us all our lives,
and in my heart salute the flag, 

which for our freedom thrives.  

5. For now I will ENJOY

the simple things in life a bit,
delighted by the hummingbirds, 

where I relax and sit.
