Trick or Treat!

1. Pumpkins, ghosts, and witches hats,

clowns and cowboys, and black cats,
fairy princesses and queens;
COSTUMES made for Halloween.

2. CHOCOLATE bars and lollipops,
candy corn and lemon drops,
caramel apples, good to eat,
with children crying, "Trick or Treat!"
Football players, majorettes,
kittens, dogs, and cuddly pets.
Dinosaurs and furry bears,
elephants and rabbit ears.

3. PARTIES, games, and family fun.
Yummy treats for everyone.
Donuts while and hot chocolate brews,
with prizes for the best costumes.

4. Trick or treating with good FRIENDS.
Laughter until evening ends.
Later cuddled with a book
Mother reads in cozy nook;
pirates, sailors, Peter Pan;
stories in a distant land.

5. Hugs and kisses late at night.
DREAMS of every sweet delight.
Waking feeling warm and snug,
greeted with a cozy hug.
Memories of the previous night;
trick or treating by starlight.
Looking forward to next year
when Halloween again is here.
Children dream while they're asleep
the joy of crying, "Trick or Treat!"

Everything Is a Blessing!

1. Everything is a blessing,
each thing you say and do,
no matter how you're feeling,
or what you are going through.
You need to change your outlook,
and have a brighter view,
For everything is a blessing
that brings God's LOVE to you.

2. When you are sad or angry,
just stop and close your eyes.
Envision ANGELS' presence,
like stars up in the skies.
If you are ever lonely,
imagine you will be
surrounded with their wondrous
loving songs in harmony.

3. If loneliness or sadness
you never ever feel,
your deep desire to search for God
would soon lose its appeal.
Even anger can allow us
to despise ourself,
so we can more easily
into God's MERCY delve.

4. Though time and age may take their toll,
the blessings that they bring
are true compassion and concern
for every living thing.
When we are weak we're really strongest,
for God stoops so low,
to pick us up when we are down,
to help our STRENGTH to grow.

5. Even when we sin
it is a blessing to our souls,
for from our sorrow and defilement
God's forgiveness flows.
If you will see through eyes of FAITH
you'll find it's really true,
that everything is a blessing
that will bring God's love to you!

Pinegate On a Rainy Day

1. Pinegate on a rainy day
chases all my blues away.
Driving peacefully along,
raindrops chime a cheerful song.
Cozy HOUSES on each street,
with pleasant yards so trim and neat,
on curving streets with lovely trees,
brings peaceful feelings that appease.

2. While driving I anticipate
arriving HOME, as I await
entering through my front door
to view my pastel rose decor.
A haven for tranquility,
and refuge of serenity,
the pitter-patter of the rain
falls upon my window pane.

3. Thoughts how FLOWERS bloom in spring
are soothing and so comforting.
Sauntering from room to room,
happy thoughts begin to bloom.
Lighting in the hearth a fire,
I lounge in my relaxed attire.
As evening nears and sunshine fades
I'm warmed and soothed by crackling flames.
Sipping sparkling champagne,
I count my blessings once again.

4. Pondering my plans and dreams,
all is well and blest it seems.
Feeling SAFE and wrapped in love,
I'm clothed in grace from up above.
Affirming that my life will be
cherished to the utmost degree,
I sense contented feelings calm
my spirit, with their healing balm.

5. Now the glittering drops of rain
patting on my window pane
transform my home the warmer still,
dispersing every evening chill.
As I warm before the FIRE,
thoughts of how I'll soon retire
keep me blanketed in love
and wrapped in grace from heaven above!

All I Want

1. All I want in life is just
a little act of kindness;
a smile, a HUG, a gentle pat,
a word of gratitude.
Life is difficult enough
surrounded by the ones we love,
so why cause others sorrow
by a careless attitude.

2. What I treasure most are flames
that issue from the hearts
of those who act with KINDNESS,
and the warmth their love imparts.
These acts set in motion
such a river of true peace;
great enough to heal our souls
and make all worries cease.

3. Just one demonstration
of the LOVE of Christ within
is strong enough to steer a heart
away from doubt or sin.
A simple smile from just a stranger
can renew our hope,
filling us with cheer, which instills
strength to help us cope.

4. We don't always realize
the power in a SMILE,
though seeming small at first,
it gains momentum in a while.
When someone is grateful for
the things that we have done,
it brightens up our hearts just like
the brilliant noonday sun!

5. What we really need in life
are true and sincere friends;
those who give support and love
until our lifetime ends.
Money sifts like grains of sand
and fame fades like the dusk,
but friendship heals the pain from all
those people who are brusque.
I'm quite convinced this need is not
unique to me alone.
To seek support and gratitude,
I feel we all are prone.
So let this be a message to
all those it may concern.
Expressing GRATITUDE is a
great lesson we should learn!

Healing

1. Each time after an injury
when trying hard to heal,
if you've become impatient
with the way you seem to feel,
be sure to use your common SENSE
the best way that you can,
whether you are young or old,
a woman or a man.

2. When you feel achy
or disturbed in any way,
your body is trying to speak to you
in various ways and say,
"We have a little problem.
I need your help today.
In order to recover,
please REST without delay!"
It really is amazing
what a little rest can do,
for it enables healing
in your body to flow through.

3. But if you disregard the warnings
you will surely find
your problems grow more difficult
and serious in time.
For HEALING you must first
try to eliminate your pain.
Resting will begin
to foster healing once again.
For a few days take something
you know will help reduce
your body's inflammation,
without causing you abuse

4. Hopefully within a week
with rest and quiet time,
you will be back to normal
once again and feeling fine.
Remember too when you encounter
mental doubts or strain,
to rest and take your MEDICATION
'til you're well again.
Mental stress can tax the body's
healing, one can tell,
as injury and sickness
tends to weaken every cell.

5. So do yourself a favor
when you're reaching for the sky.
You must lower your standards
if they're a bit too high.
Take time to smell the roses,
and let their lovely scent
bring peace and joyful healing,
for that is their intent.
ENJOY each happy moment
in your life with all you do,
enabling it to then return
its healing back to you!

One Day I Lost My Temper

1. One day I lost my temper,

and got angry with a flare.
I yelled out in frustration.
I knew I should beware.
Each time I lose my temper,
as seldom as I could,
It always will FATIGUE me
for a while afterward.

2. It really does upset me,
since I want to keep control
over all my senses,
my body, mind, and soul.
I feel so DISAPPOINTED
that I acted in this way.
I wish I had another chance
to brush my words away.

3. When life becomes unruly,
and laden with unrest,
we sometimes tend to bicker
as we're all put to the test.
Little things can ESCALATE
until the bubble bursts.
And then our hurt relationship
must be refreshed and nursed.

4. It's easier to keep your temper
under your control,
for losing it will drain your strength
and surely take its toll.
All of us can lose our temper
when we get upset.
We always should FORGIVE ourselves
and try hard not to fret.

5. Tomorrow is another day
that brings a bright new start,
so we can find forgiveness
for each failure in our heart.
Turn the page of your life's story
writing happy thoughts.
Then illustrate it with a scene
of beauty you have wrought.
Whenever you feel angry,
just smile, RELAX, and say,
"I think that I'll tuck this away
until another day!"
