Down at the Beach

1. Picture a leisurely 

walk on the sand,

down at the beach 

STROLLING hand in hand.

The radiant sun beating 

down on your face,

with the tide rolling in 

at a leisurely pace.

2. Sun bathers lazily 

breathing fresh air,

completely relaxed 

without even a care.

Bright colored beach towels 

lined in the sun.

Children and young adults 

having such fun.

Seagulls and birds flying 

looking for treats,

then landing near PICNICKERS 

close to their seats.

3. Elderly women 

with lovely straw hats

LAUGHING and smiling 

with friends, having chats.

Elderly gentlemen 

walking along

the cool water’s edge, 

as they whistle a song.

4. SAILBOATS drifting 

not far from the shore,

near motorboats, skiers, 

and swimmers galore.

Young couples reading, 

all shaded from sun,

beneath beach umbrellas 

when snacking is done.

Laughing and frolicking 

seen everywhere.

A more cheerful scene 

would be ever so rare.

5. Everyone rested, 

REFRESHED, and alive,

filled with such pleasure 

and so vivified.

I really admire 

the lesson they teach,

To find pure delight

while they're down at the beach!
