Crickets Late at Night

1. Sitting in my darkened room before going to sleep, I enjoyed the CHIRPING of a cricket’s gentle peep. It sounded very rhythmic each chirp making me smile, and so I sat with my eyes closed and listened for a while. The wee hours of the morning,
more precisely two am, though most others were fast asleep I did not envy them.
2. Sipping on a little glass of wine right before bed, easily helped form these poetry words within my head. The day had been just lovely and the weather toasty warm, which would bring HEALING to whoever may have felt forlorn.
3. And now it was the time that I looked forward to all day, when most others were fast asleep in their own tranquil way. This is when it’s easiest to connect with God, who keeps us company until our heads begin to nod. Inviting us to slumber with our head upon His breast, He gives us REASURRANCE that He always knows what's best.
4. Worries quickly fade within His unconditional love, and every care is washed away with grace poured from above. The crickets and the gentle sounds of nighttime soothe our soul, creating us anew as we are once again made whole. If we take the time to stop and listen to each sound, the healing and CONTENTMENT we receive will be profound.
5. Becoming very drowsy I began nodding my head, and knew that it was time to crawl into my cozy bed. My contemplation brought delight and wisdom far beyond, the things of earth as if someone had waved a magic wand. The sounds all became quiet and I barely heard a peep. Then bathed in pure TRANQUILITY, I soon was asleep.
