A Blade of Grass

1. Our lives are like a blade of grass.
The Bible tells us so.
We all are here today
and gone tomorrow, we should know.
As we build ourselves and families up,
with such prestige,
secretly, we beg God for His COURAGE,
on our knees.

2. We all can be so insecure at times,
when troubles come,
but then become puffed up with pride,
as soon as they are gone.
How can we be so arrogant,
when Jesus came to earth,
displaying, by His death humility's
unfathomed WORTH.

3. He tells us, pride precedes a fall,
but HONOR a reward
for those who seek to humbly bow,
before their Sovereign Lord.

3. What will it take for us to see
our insignificance,
in contrast to our Heavenly Father's
great MAGNIFICENCE!
We've but to look at Mary,
our Sweet Mother and our Queen,
who's virtues were enormous,
though kept hidden and unseen.
Let Mary be a lesson for us all
upon this earth,

4. So in humility, we will
acknowledge its great worth.
We must remember always
that HUMILITY is the key,
for it's the virtue that will help us
win eternity!

"All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like
the flowers of the field;
the grass withers
and the flowers fade.”
1 Peter 1:24

I Saw an Angel’s Feathery Wing

1. I saw an angel’s feathery wing once,
flutter near my face.
I quickly felt his presence
in that peaceful holy place.
Certain he was telling me
that he was very NEAR,
at once my heart was floating,
and my inner vision clear.

2. I realized the room was filled
with HEALING and with grace.
I beheld such sanctity
and glory on each face.
I wished that everyone could see
this angel hovering near,
with wings as soft as velvet,
face as gentle as a deer.
Two loving eyes that both were filled
with happiness and joy,
and lips lovingly smiling,
offering virtue to employ.

3. I knew this special vision
of an angel close at hand
was proof that they are near,
waiting to HELP at our command.
They flutter and they linger.
You can see them if you try.
Image them upon the earth,
at sea, or in the sky.

4. Open your awareness
to their presence day and night
to ensure they’ll manifest themselves
before your sight.
The more you give them notice,
the more time they’ll spend with you.
Their kindness and PROTECTION
will guide everything you do.
Do not let these heavenly seraphs
lose their chance to serve.
Their mission is to guard you
and bring messages to earth.

5. God commissioned them
to be the stewards of His LOVE,
as they distribute graces
and His help from up above.
So open up your spiritual eyes,
bring heaven into view,
And you will see God’s angels,
gently flutter close to you!

A Garden of Love

1. Nothing brings more happiness
in the world than planting LOVE.
God then waters it with hope
and grace from up above.
The flowers that will blossom forth
will be so beautiful.
Each one will be a virtue colored
in a lovely hue.

2. The next time it is raining,
do not sulk or lie around.
Smile and plant a GARDEN
where much gladness will abound.
On rainy days bring sunshine
into other people's lives.
Visit friends who grieve the loss
of husbands or of wives.

3. There is sadness in the world,
but do not be dismayed.
You can be a ray of SUNSHINE
making darkness fade.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
can bring such longed for hope.
Every thoughtful gesture
helps your friends to better cope.

4. It's not very difficult
to bring a bit of cheer.
It only takes a moment
but could last throughout the year.
There are many kindly things
that you can say or do.
The HAPPINESS you give away
will soon return to you.

5. If the day seems dreary
and some raindrops start to fall,
LISTEN closely to each one
and try to hear God's call.
Dry a teardrop from each face you meet
along your way.
You'll find that in your heart,
it truly is a wondrous day!

A Beautiful Winter Thaw

1. After a portion of wintry weather,
when everything begins to thaw,
and the SUN peeks out from retreating
clouds, I feel a rejuvenating awe.

2. Driving down streets that were once
white with snow, now melting in the light day,
I see several FOOTPRINTS  beginning to fade,
where someone had walked on their way.

3. DROPLETS, from where once hung icicles, gleam
and glisten with every drop,
falling from bushes, from fences and trees,
while others from house and rooftop.

4. Watching the clouds float away in the SKY
gives a liberating feeling to me.
Enthused by each new transformation in life,
I feel so uplifted and free.

5. Resting, relaxing, later at home
I gaze through my window in peace.
My heart feels warmed by the sun shining bright
and the light filtering through the trees.
As every branch, seems to magically glisten,
I ponder the beauty with awe.
I vow to remember the feeling SUBLIME
of this bright shimmering. winter thaw!

Floating Down a River

1. Floating down a river
on a lovely summer day,
all your cares and worries
drift so peacefully away.
Fears about the future dim
and quickly disappear,
now that quiet CONFIDENCE
and happiness are near.

2. Sunshine and SERENITY
begin to soothe your soul,
filling you with healing,
and the grace to make you whole.

3. As you drift and float
in gentle stillness you behold
the beauty of creation,
watching all its power unfold.
You dismiss the past
to hopes of future joys and DREAMS.
All that’s bright and beautiful
surrounds you now it seems.

4. Lifted by their promise
you feel buoyed by HOPE and love;
strengthened by a warm embrace
and safety from above.

5. Future days seem bright now
with a light that shines within.
HAPPINESS awaits you
as a new life you begin.
This peaceful lovely image
deep within your heart will stay;
of floating down a river
on a lovely summer day!

“In quietness and confidence
will be your strength.”
Isaiah 30:15
