When We Are Overwhelmed

1. At times when we feel OVERWHELMED

by people, we might find
we loose our concentration
and our former peace of mind.
Well wishers have good intentions,
but we were never meant
to juggle more than God intends,
or things not heaven sent.

2.
When circumstances happen all at once
it can cause stress.
To free ourselves is difficult,
I think we’ll all confess.
We should not be pressured,
and consent to every whim,
but PRAY to God, and make decisions
solely based on Him.

3. Eliminating choices

is the way God helps us learn
how He expects us in each situation
to DISCERN.
Quietly His voice is heard
within our baptized soul.
Like a soothing balm of healing
as it makes us whole.

4. A friend once said to me,

"Too many voices." years ago.
It left a strong impression
of the place where I should go;
deep within my heart to seek
God's presence and His love,
to find the WISDOM of
The Holy Spirit from above.

5. All the pressures of this life

are only but a drop,
while God's love a great OCEAN
which will never ever stop.
When feeling overwhelmed
let all your cares just melt away,
then falling on your knees,
lift up your heart to God and pray!
g
"Do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewal
of your mind, that you may discern
what is the good and acceptable
and perfect will of God."
Romans 12:2

Walk Leisurely

1. Walk leisurely, enjoying all
the sights that pass you by;
the lovely houses, flowers,
and the clouds up in the sky.
Do not hasten, but appreciate
these simple things,
and you will be amazed at how much JOY
that each one brings!

2. People often hurry for
their health and exercise,
but this can be accompanied
by problems that arise.
Tension and the feeling that
a schedule they must keep,
could all result in disregarding
needed rest or sleep.
Slower walking helps to
exercise more muscles too.
It tenderly massages, and
adds STRENGTH to all you do.

3. Strolling leisurely brings HEALING
to body and soul,
as it fills your heart with peace,
which should be your main goal.
Listen to the whispers that
your inspiration speaks.
Follow where it leads you,
to a hill or sandy beach.
With a soothing balm you will be
healed through and through,
as tension is transformed into
a rest haven for you.

4. When you are in need of
inner peace, comfort or cheer,
you’ll find them on a restful stroll
when sunny days are here.
Sometimes it is even nice
to walk out in the rain.
It can help restore your PEACE
and happiness again.
Walking can reduce, by almost half,
common disease,
while in its gentle way it puts
your mind and heart at ease.

5. Remember when you take a stroll
to try and slow your pace.
Life was not intended
as a marathon or race.
Just relax, enjoying every sight
and sound you hear.
Staying close to nature you will feel
God’s PRESENCE near!

The Little Old Man and Woman

1. There once was a little old woman,
who lived with a little old man.
In the morning she made eggs and BACON,
in her cast iron black frying pan.
Smiling they sat at the table,
as they gazed into each other’s eyes.
They found daily pleasure in giving
one another a pleasant surprise.

2. After breakfast the old man would sit down
with the newspaper comfortably,
while his wife began rinsing the dishes,
before putting them neatly away.
Later they worked in their GARDEN
side by side with the sun shining down.
Their nutritious vegetables grew right near
lovely flowers that bloomed all around.

3. At noon the old woman prepared lunch
while her husband put their tools away.
After they finished their meal,
in the house for a while they would stay.
The old man would work on his HOBBIES,
while his wife sewed or straightened the house.
They pleasantly enjoyed their whole pastime,
each as quiet as a little mouse.

4. Then after resting or reading,
it was time to make dinner for two.
The wife’s tasty meals were so wholesome,
but their favorite was hearty beef STEW.
Dinnertime was always cozy,
with a warmth that could not be surpassed.
After his wife cleaned the kitchen,
on the couch the old man took a nap.

5. The coziest time then was sitting,
in the parlor in front of the FIRE.
Reading or chatting they rested,
while they lounged in more comfortable attire.
The old couple calmly reflected,
desiring to the world they might give
A quiet and peaceful example,
of the contented life that they lived.

Reflections

1. Walking by a boat dock
on a lovely summer day,
I admire the boats all docked,
and every sunlit ray.
In the peaceful CHANNEL
ever tranquilly they sit,
reflecting in the water
images by sunshine lit.

2. Sometimes when I pause to stop
and view them for a while,
I admire unique displays
of color, shape, and style.
As I’m warmed in SUNSHINE
I begin to stroll once more.
Eventually this leads me
to the lake’s smooth sandy shore.

3. Gazing at the rolling TIDE
is soothing and serene.
Bright sunshine reflects
upon the water with its gleam.
Filled with deep contentment,
as I gaze out at the sun,
I will meditate upon this
when the day is done.

4. Strolling back so leisurely
relaxes all my nerves.
The lovely PATH is tranquil
with its winding gentle curves.
Noticing the boats’ reflections
in the water’s glow,
delight and new refreshment
in my body overflow.

5. When my walk has ended,
and I happily depart,
I feel a rich CONTENTMENT
very deep within my heart.
That is where I keep this image,
to reflect upon,
until once more I stroll passed boats
reflected in the sun!
