Home Sweet Home

1. In the hearth a blazing fire.

Cozy evenings to retire.
LIGHTS, through windows, shining bright,
cheering up the darkest night.
Watching chimney smoke arise,
ascending to the starlit skies.

2. Sweet AROMAS in each room,
while in gardens flowers bloom.
Children’s laughter, parents’ love,
strewn with blessings from above.
Quiet evenings with a book,
reading in a cozy nook.

3. Baking cakes and apple pies,
as a tasty sweet surprise.
Toasty warmth on winter days.
In the hearth the logs ablaze.
With hot chocolate by the FIRE,
relaxing until I retire.

4. Tranquil MUSIC while I rest,
helping me to feel my best.
Peaceful mornings I’ve begun,
glimpsing at the rising sun
peeping o’er the window sill,
giving me a gentle thrill.

5. Warmest feelings in my heart
at each new day's cheerful start.
Of all the things in life I find,
whether of the soul or mind,
home sweet HOME will always be
life's most blessed mystery.

Thank God for Joy and Sorrow

1. Thank God for joy and sorrow,
today and for tomorrow.
Let stars twinkling in velvet sky,
remind you of the reasons why
He formed you with a loving sigh,
and watched His LOVE in you grow.

2. Whenever you are weary,
and life seems sad and dreary,
do ‘not’ feel you are ‘all’ alone,
and think sad thoughts to which you’re prone,
or entertain a heart of stone.
Your load He’ll come to carry.
He’s with you when you’re weeping,
and guides you when you’re seeking.
He faithfully will dry your tears,
with CONSOLATION through the years,
protecting you when sorrow nears,
awake or when you’re sleeping.

3. Just place your hand in His,
and in His heart your cares.
Vow to Him your endless trust,
then live your life both pure and just.
Your circumstances He’ll adjust,
as He with ‘you’ His GIFTS shares.

4. Each ‘time’ sorrows approach,
He’ll be your loving coach.
Great strength, yet gentle, humble, wise,
His essence always will comprise,
without experiencing demise,
transcendent of all reproach.
His love, like rescue hounds,
is truly without bounds.
Craving your love wholeheartedly,
He seeks your trust relentlessly,
and by HEALING sets you free,
with truth and light, His compounds.

5. So never lose your faith.
He helps all those who wait.
One day He’ll truly make you STRONG.
With ‘His’ great power it won’t take long.
He’ll place within your heart a song.
This is your preordained fate!

My Cozy Cottage Home

1. Within my cozy cottage home,
I have not any need to roam.
Though others seem to rush about,
I’ve no desire to venture out.
Sipping my hot cup of TEA,
through the window I can see
birds and squirrels playfully
nibbling, glancing back at me.

2. Placing COOKIES on my plate,
delicious and just freshly baked,
savoring every tasty bite,
I watch a bluebird taking flight.
Pondering how I’ll spend my day,
in a very special way,
I’ll take a stroll then bake a cake.
A tasty meal I will make.

3. On lovely paper, pen in hand,
I’ll write a LETTER to a friend.
Sifting through my memory chest,
I cherish as a homey nest,
I’ll choose an item to extend
and share with a devoted friend.

4. When dusk begins to settle in,
lounging in my cozy den,
in the hearth I’ll light a FIRE,
relaxing until I retire.

5. Beneath my COMFORTER, so warm,
feeling protected from all harm,
welcoming a sleepy yawn,
I will not wake until the dawn.

Grow Old Gracefully

1. Try to grow old gracefully.
It is better for your health.
Treasure peace and HAPPINESS
more than youth or wealth.
We were not intended
ever really to grow old.
Sin brought death’s reality,
by God we have been told.

2. Instead of fighting our frustration,
we should be at PEACE,
relying on God’s grace
to help our sanctity increase.
Beauty is determined,
as seen through Our Lord’s eyes.
Being less than grateful for His gifts
would be unwise.
God gives us what we require,
to meet our daily needs.
For our chosen mission,
lovingly He plants the seeds.

3. When we fulfill His perfect will,
and TRUST His unique plan,
we see that He prepared it,
long before the world began.
Though we are growing older,
He still sees us as we were
when we were young and innocent,
and when our hearts were pure.

4. We’ve been clothed in garments
of great beauty from above,
sewn by God’s own hand, embroidered
with His grace and love.
Patiently ACCEPTING
everything God sends our way,
assures us we will please Him,
and will never go astray.
Acceptance makes us peaceful
which in turn brings happiness,
relieving our frustration,
thereby freeing us from stress.

5. Again we’ll feel young at heart,
and beautiful within.
There will be no room for anger,
doubt, despair, or sin.
So thank God for the miracle
of beauty in old age,
and He will love and guide you
in your life, through every stage!

The Cottage In My Heart

1. I own a little cottage

that is deep within my heart.
Among cherished reflections
it remains a special part.
It is a lovely, picture perfect,
cozy, heavenly place.
Each room is CHARMING and has windows
curtained with white lace.
The rooms are painted lovely colors
and are filled with cheer.
Aromas are inviting
as each mealtime draws near.

2. The sun is always shining

with each warm and healing ray,
as I relax and relish
every moment of the day.
Lovely FLOWERS fill the yard
blooming in splendid hues.
While gazing through the windows
they create such pleasant views.
Cheerful colored songbirds
in the backyard sing and play.
They gather at the feeder
and the bird bath every day.

3. At times I curl upon the couch

with cozy book in hand.
Some adventures take me
to a far and distant land.
Also I might bake or cook
a simple tasty meal,
that permeates my cottage
with delectable APPEAL.

4. In the evening when the moon

and stars are twinkling bright,
I sometimes sit beneath them
in the stillness of the night.
That is when I DREAM of
all the things I love to do,
and relish precious memories
that are both old and new.
Loved ones who've supported me
receive and extra prayer.
I am strengthened by their love
just knowing they are near.

5. When retiring for the night

I rest in peaceful CALM
as I anticipate the blessings
that will wake with dawn.
I am truly grateful
as my head begins to nod,
while happily I fall asleep,
within the arms of God.
